This vacuum cleaner features two filters to ensure maximum performance. One of the filters you can remove and rinse with water, while the other Carbon HEPA media filter traps 99.97{13d535ddeae1a90f42b9ff1586906b2be87669b7e44aacb62d19711cfd014a97} of dust and allergens and can last up to 2 years.
Other product features include a 27 ft cord that will auto-wind back up when you’re done, 5 position adjustments, and up to 12 ft of reach.
Overview
Needed a new vacuum. Have dogs. Didn’t want to break the bank. The three defining factors that made me purchase this Hoover pet vacuum.
Assembling the vacuum was easy. Instructions are clear and the various tools are easy to prepare.
Once assembled, I took it around the living room and tested out the various tools that I had at my disposal. Let me tell you, SO MUCH DOG HAIR was collected by this machine. The clear canister gives you immediate insight to the performance and you can see just how much is being picked up. It was pretty satisfying to watch, especially since it was just my initial “test run.”
My old vacuum was pretty terrible for hard floors, so I was pleasantly surprised at how well The WindTunnel 3 performed. It picked up everything and went nicely into corners.
Maintenance is also quite simple with this vacuum. The canister is removable and easy to empty, though I strongly advise doing it outdoors as the there will be a miasmic cloud of dust waiting for you. Speaking of dust, the filter that you can remove and wash is great, however it’ll take a long time to dry – So be prepared to be without your vacuum during this period.
The main filter, the Carbon HEPA filter, will signal with a light when it needs to replaced. I thought that was a cool little feature.
One of my gripes with this vacuum is how heavy it is. It’ll be a chore for some people to lug it around (especially the elderly).

- Overall, it’s quite heavy. Feels top-heavy when using the hose.
- Short hose.
- Despite being a ‘pet vacuum’ it lacks some of the features found in other pet vacuums.
- Washable filter takes a while to dry under normal conditions.
Verdict
Overall, the Hoover WindTunnel 3 Pro Pet UH70931PC is a great machine going at a reasonable price. It’s powerful, and does an excellent job cleaning up pet hair.
If you have pets and are looking for a new vacuum, it’s worth considering.
